Vegan Cooking Demos on Ellen

veganmofo

I don’t watch a lot of daytime TV but one show I really love is Ellen. And I love her even more since she came out as a vegan about a year ago.  :)

Recently Ellen has twice hosted her personal chef on her show to demonstrate how easy it is to cook up a healthy, yummy, vegan meal. On Sept 30 they cooked up vegan tacos:

And just last week they prepared a vegan roast with veggies and mashed potatoes:

She also hosted Wolfgang Puck on Oct 15, who whipped up a Whole Wheat Pizza with Chanterelles, Eggplant, and Leeks:

You can find the recipes for these meals at Ellen’s website.

YAY ELLEN!

  1. That’s pretty awesome that she’s showing people that being vegan is not some weird and hard to do thing. :)

  2. thanks for sharing – i can’t wait to watch the clips. by the way attempt # 1 at vegan cheescake did not go so well. i blame the recipe because something was definitely not right and it didn’t really cook properly. i will let you know how attempt #2 goes.

  3. I think Ellen is the best about getting a point across but not sounding preachy. I am always amazed at how she can express her opinion but does it a funny way so people laugh and don’t feel like they are being lectured. I saw the episode where they made the roast, mashed potatoes, with the red wine reduction. Her chef is pretty funny too!

  4. I think that’s why she is such a successful talk show host – she has a way of making everyone feel good.
