Thank you for this post. I have been looking at this watch for some time. For both running and yoga. On the days I do not run, having the heart rate monitor will allow me to track my yoga sessions.

Now that you ahve had sometime to use the watch, I would love to hear any updates about your experience.

Stef

Remember if you don\’t want or need the heart rate monitoring, or connectivity with Garmin’s wireless speed and cadence sensor, you should opt for the 205. It is cheaper too.

The heart rate monitors and I just don't work well together. I just want a device that records time, distance and helps with pacing. I will have to look into this again, especially now that my polar has completely died.

Why you not want a HR-monitor? That was the reason I've got a fitness-watch in the first place.
The main reason I use my Forerunner405 is to track my HR & record the track I ran.

Hi Kristen - no, I did not. The heart rate monitor was a must-have for me so I didn't look at any others. Check out their website - I think they have all models on there.

I know there are a bunch of different Garmin's out there. I like all the features of the one you have except for the heart rate monitor. I had a Polar watch with a heart rate monitor and I hated it, I never used it. Did you look at any Garmin's that did not have a monitor with them? I know I can just not use it, but it seems silly to pay for the technology if you don't want it.
